Michael Pope, President of Audio Video Interiors, has been actively involved in the Consumer Electronics Association for the past five years. After serving on the TechHome Board of Directors and the PARA (Now Audio-Video Retailers Division) Board of Directors, Michael will now Chair the Audio-Video Retailers Division in 2012. As incoming Chair, Michael also participated in the recent Board of Industry Leaders meeting held in conjunction with the CEO Summit in Stresa, Italy.
The Audio-Video Retailer Division serves as the home within CEA for audio, video, home theater, and custom electronics specialty retailers. CEA's AVR Division provides a voice for retailers selling audio and video products within the trade association and the larger CE industry. Prior to becoming the Audio-Video Retailer Division in August 2010, this retailer member group was known within CEA and the industry as PARA. PARA had a rich history of serving the needs of audio-video specialty retailers.
The Audio-Video Retailer Division provides educational programming; helping dealers to maintain competitiveness, enhance their positioning in the marketplace, and improve their financial performance. The AVR Division supports members’ desire to grow their business skills through education; and, through the power of association, foster professional relationships with their suppliers in the manufacturing community.
